Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent

Have a valid driver’s license

Arecurrentlya

UtahPOSTCertified Police Officer ,or

Are currently certified to perform the functions of a police officer in a different state and can successfully obtain a waiver from Utah Peace Officer Standards and Training.

Out-of-state certified officers are encouraged to begin the Utah POST Waiver process as soon as possible to facilitate Utah Certification Testing prior to, or about, August 3rd.

Hiringprocesseswillbeinitiatedbaseduponapplicationand/orinterviewscoring.

Interviewandtestingdateswillbearrangedaftertheapplicationshavebeenreviewedforeligibility.

Wewill work with applicants to accommodate their scheduling needs and accommodate in-person and video interviews.

Forapplicantswhoarecertifiedinadifferentstateandmakethehiringlist,limitedpre-employment processes will begin based upon a conditional job offer.

Once the applicant obtains their Utah Certification, the remainder of the hiring process will be expedited.

Salary&Benefits

Paywillbedeterminedbaseduponexperienceandqualificationscomparedagainstcurrent St.George Police Officers’ tenure and wages. Startingsalarywillbedeterminedbasedonyearsofserviceandqualifications. Ranges as of December 2025:

Police Officer I–Starting Salary: 63 ($69,982 - $104,972/year)

Police Officer II–Starting Salary: 65($73,524 - $110,286/year)

Police Officer III–Starting Salary: 67($77,246 - $113,230/year)

Individualshiredinthispositionhavetheopportunitytoprogressupto $115,870/year,whichisthemaximum salary for this position as of December 2025.
