The role involves applying nursing expertise within the specified specialty, promoting evidence-based practice, and contributing to planning and service delivery in line with the Health Service’s goals. The Victorian core behaviours and NSW Health CORE values guide interactions with patients, clients and staff, and staff are expected to model safe practice and compliance with health and safety policies.
Qualifications and experienceClinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2 requirements: a registered nurse appointed to a position approved by the Health Service, with at least 5 years full-time equivalent post-qualification experience, and at least 3 years in the specialty field. The employee must have approved post-graduate nursing qualifications relevant to the field or other qualifications/experience deemed appropriate by the Health Service. An employer may require a higher qualification in the specialist nursing field where essential for performance.

- Minimum five years full-time equivalent post-qualification experience, with at least three years full-time equivalent experience in the specialty field and/or post-graduate qualifications relevant to the field of practice.
