Job Description

A Medical Assistant provides care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting, caring for patients with acute and chronic needs. The role includes clear communication with patients via telephone and in-person interactions.

Full-Time (40 hrs/week - Monday to Thursday, 4x10 hr shifts).

• Providing Patient Care:
  Under the direction of the Clinician, assist the provider in gathering information relevant to the patient’s visit and condition.
• Effective Communication:
  Communicate clearly with patients seeking care through different modalities, including telephone and in‑person interactions.

  Work with cross‑functional teams to collaborate on patient care. Attention to detail and follow‑through are key components in helping to provide the care that is needed.

• Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program OR at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience OR a current active and in‑good‑standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in Utah.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. Must be obtained prior to start date.
• Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers.
• Utah Only:
  If certified with less than one year of MA experience, caregivers may attend a yearlong MA residency program.

• Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.
• Computer literacy in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software.
• Current national MA certification from one of the following:
  Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) of AMT, National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) of the AAMA.

40 hours.

$19.87 - $28.31 (actual hourly rate dependent upon experience).
