What You'll Be Doing

This position provides Fire Safety Officer Support across SESLHD to services located in the St George Hospital and associated offsite facilities including, the following services:
Drug and Alcohol, Mental Health and Community Health Centres. In addition this position may be required to provide leave relief (if approved) for other Fire Safety Officers. Fire safety duties are the primary role of this position.

Selection Criteria
  • Relevant Fire Safety qualifications i.e. Fire Safety Officer Certificate (Level
    2) and additionally a preference for Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (equivalent to 40110).
  • Minimum of 2 years employment in the health care industry as a Fire Safety Officer or suitable equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in assessment, implementation and evaluation of fire safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of statutory requirements for Fire Safety in Health buildings, Australian Standards and the Building Code of Australia as they pertain to fire safety.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication, in addition to report writing skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of fire safety and evacuation training.
  • Evidence of computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office in particular Word and Excel.
  • Class C Motor Vehicle Drivers Licence.
