Physical requirements include hearing, lifting, manual dexterity, pulling, pushing, seeing, sitting, speaking, squatting, kneeling, standing, and walking

Description:

The Occupational Therapist provides direct patient services that include identifying, evaluating, diagnosing, and treating. This position also provides indirect services, including consulting, advising, teaching, and training patients and their caregivers. Responsibilities include assessing and evaluating a patient's condition according to the physician's order and current standards of practice. The Occupational Therapist provides appropriate intervention, including treatment related to the established plan of care with appropriate duration and intensity.

Educating and training patients and their caregivers is also a key responsibility. The Occupational Therapist accepts assignments from the Director or Team Lead, which may include caseload management, productivity standards, education, and supervising others. Active participation in the quality improvement process for the team and clinical setting is essential, along with follow-through on improvements. Effective communication through written chart notes, evaluations, progress reports, and discharge summaries regarding the patient's status and plans for follow-up care is required.

Daily charges are recorded and submitted for payment according to department guidelines. Participation in regularly scheduled or special clinical meetings related to patient care and clinic management is necessary. Maintaining appropriate team and interdisciplinary relationships is important. Required skills include patient assessment, treatment planning, caregiver education, and quality improvement. Preferred skills include clinical documentation and interdisciplinary collaboration.
