As a Presales Engineer, you support the sales team using your technical knowledge, account management skills, and strong customer‑first focus. You can take and give directions, working closely with sales colleagues to achieve the desired targets.

- Provide pre‑sales technical assistance, product education, and demo support as required and help Barco and partner sales teams prepare tender documents.
- Offer support to customers on technical matters and become a trusted advisor for critical accounts and prospective customers.
- Create, manage and execute support contracts.
- Work with Barco and partner sales teams on planning and organizing sales opportunities.
- Manage customer relations by soliciting and logging client feedback.
- Gather and interpret customer requirements; determine the best solution in collaboration with the product management team.
- Identify areas to improve customer satisfaction and repeat business, then communicate issues and possible solutions to upper management.
- Attend, manage and participate in all required shows, meetings and training sessions.
Up to 60% travel may be required.
Required Education, Experience and CompetenciesEducation:
Preferred bachelor’s degree.
Experience:
10 years of experience deploying AV or IT solutions.
Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to communicate in English; additional languages may be required depending on the region supported.
Autonomy and initiative.
Technical curiosity and a natural flair for technical application.
Ability to break down technical concepts into user‑friendly terminology.
Knowledge of customer service principles and techniques, with the ability to analyze and interpret customer requirements, identify issues and problems, and offer appropriate action plans toward resolution.
Experience with Salesforce CRM is a plus.
Familiarity with MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Essential Functions- Work in a normal office environment, including 6–8 hours of computer activity per day.
- Ability to lift, carry, or position equipment up to 30 lb during trade shows or demos.
- Ability to walk, bend, reach, and move between areas as needed.
- Ability to connect, unplug, handle, or manipulate cables, small parts, or testing hardware.
- Regular business hours apply; adjusted work hours may be required to meet schedules.
- Must comply with all environmental, health, safety, and security protocols.
- Must be able to visually inspect hardware and displays and perform tasks requiring fine motor skills.
The salary range for this position in CA is $109,000 – $123,000 annually. The actual salary will be determined based on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications.
