The Rural Health Care Network Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in St. George, UT and will report to the Executive Director. RHAU is seeking a highly capable Data & Finance Manager to build and lead the financial, grant-compliance, data, and operational systems of a growing statewide nonprofit. This is not a traditional bookkeeping role. It is an opportunity to work directly with the Executive Director, shape how the organization manages resources and measures results, and provide the reliable information needed to strengthen rural health across Utah.
EssentialFunctions
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow monitoring, financial analysis, and periodic reforecasting.
- Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Maintain or oversee the general ledger, account structure, reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate accounts payable, accounts receivable, deposits, expense reimbursement, credit cards, and purchasing processes.
- Monitor financial performance, identify variances or risks, and provide recommendations to the Executive Director.
- Develop financial materials and dashboards for leadership and board review.
- Establish budgets, cost centers, reporting schedules, and documentation standards for federal, state, local, hospital, foundation, and other grants.
- Track grant revenue, expenditures, match requirements, indirect costs, restrictions, and remaining balances.
- Review expenses for allowability, allocability, reasonableness, documentation, and compliance with award terms and organizational policy.
- Prepare or coordinate grant financial reports, reimbursement requests, invoices, budget revisions, and closeout documentation.
- Maintain audit-ready grant files and coordinate with program staff to align fiscal and performance reporting.
- Monitor compliance requirements and communicate risks, deadlines, or corrective actions.
- Design and maintain reliable organizational, program, grant, membership, and operational data structures.
- Develop dashboards, key performance indicators, recurring reports, and decision-support analyses.
- Establish data definitions, quality standards, documentation, access controls, and retention practices.
- Validate data accuracy and reconcile information across financial, grant, program, and administrative systems.
- Support evaluation, funder reporting, strategic planning, board reporting, and organizational performance management.
- Develop and maintain practical internal controls, approval workflows, segregation-of-duties safeguards, and financial policies.
- Coordinate annual audit or financial review activities, tax filings, and requests from accountants, auditors, funders, or governmental agencies.
- Support banking, insurance, contracts, procurement, records retention, and risk-management administration.
- Identify financial, compliance, data, or operational risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure secure handling of financial, personnel, grant, and organizational data.
- Evaluate, implement, and administer financial and operational systems such as Quick Books, Microsoft 365, shared drives, reporting tools, and vendor platforms.
