As a CNC Machinist at RAM, you’ll bring your expertise to a high‑precision, high‑impact environment where quality and craftsmanship matter. This is a hands‑on, second‑shift role (Monday–Thursday, with Fridays off) ideal for experienced machinists with 5+ years of CNC machining experience. You’ll set up and operate a variety of CNC machines to produce complex aerospace components to exact specifications, applying your knowledge of mechanics, shop math, metal properties, and machining processes.

This is not an entry‑level position. It’s an opportunity to grow your career in a fast‑paced, advanced manufacturing setting. Qualified candidates may be eligible for a $5,000 sign‑on bonus and tooling reimbursement after the introductory period.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes and milling machines.
  • Measure and examine completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools to perform precision machining operations.
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and materials onto machines.
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
  • Follow prepared instructions outlining methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products.
  • Select the appropriate tools and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.
  • Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs.
  • Perform minor preventive maintenance.
  • Position and fasten work pieces.
  • Program computers such as numerically controlled machine tools.
  • Set controls to regulate machining.
  • Confer with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information.
  • Confer with numerical control programmers to check and ensure that new programs will function properly, and that output will meet specifications.
  • Recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency and adaptability to setup and production.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of applicable work experience is required.
  • Work experience using Mazak or Citizen machines is required.
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check and drug screening.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Preferred 1 year Certificate in Machining Proficiency.
  • Must be 18 years old.
