SUMMARY
Crimson Heights is seeking a compassionate and dedicated part-time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at Crimson Heights, serving Saint George, Cedar City and Spanish Fork. Our residential treatment program provides comprehensive care and support to individuals facing mental health and behavioral health challenges. As a part-time RN, you will play a vital role in promoting the health, safety, and well-being of our residential clients in all locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Patient Care:
Provide direct nursing care to residential clients, including conducting health assessments, administering medications, and monitoring vital signs. Collaborate with the clinical team to develop and implement individualized care plans based on the unique needs of each resident. - Medication Management:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for ensuring accurate medication documentation and administration in accordance with physician orders, established protocols, and regulatory requirements. The RN participates in monthly medication management meetings for their respective locations caseload to ensure that all clinical decisions, medication changes, and provider orders are thoroughly documented to maintain continuity of care. - RN Coordination:
The Registered Nurse serves as a key clinical liaison to support continuity of care across each client’s residential program. The RN coordinates closely with the Medication provider, Health & Wellness Coordinator for their respective location, the Health & Wellness Director, and the pharmacy to ensure medication-related decisions and clinical directives are accurately implemented and maintained. - Health Promotion:
Promote wellness and preventive care through health education, counseling, and advocacy. Offer guidance on healthy lifestyle choices, nutrition, exercise, and self-care practices to support residential clients’ overall well-being. - Documentation:
Maintain thorough and accurate medical records, including nursing assessments, progress notes, medication administration records, and incident reports. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and documentation requirements. - Interdisciplinary
Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with other members of the treatment team, including therapists, case managers, and support staff, to coordinate care and ensure continuity of services for residents. Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and treatment planning sessions as needed. - Family Involvement:
Engage with residential clients’ families and support systems to provide information, education, and emotional support. Foster open communication and collaboration to enhance family involvement in the treatment process and promote positive outcomes for residents. - Quality Improvement:
Contribute to ongoing quality improvement efforts by participating in program evaluations, clinical audits, and performance improvement initiatives. Identify areas for enhancement and implement evidence-based practices to optimize patient care delivery. - Travel to Cedar City/St.George a minimum of twice per month to perform in-house tuberculosis (TB) testing in accordance with organizational policy, state guidelines.
- Travel to Spanish Fork on an as-needed basis to provide TB testing or other nursing services.
- Workplace Injury Guidance:
The Registered Nurse provides as-needed clinical guidance and support related to workplace staff injuries during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This includes initial assessment guidance, recommendations for appropriate next steps, coordination with leadership or Human Resources as needed, and support in determining when external medical evaluation or follow-up is warranted. - MAR System Auditing:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for auditing the Medication Administration Record (MAR) system to ensure that all client medication records within the in-house medication tracking system accurately reflect current prescribing provider orders. The RN reviews medication orders for accuracy, completeness, and consistency, and verifies that documented medications match active prescriptions. In collaboration with the Health & Wellness Coordinator, the RN promptly identifies, communicates, and addresses any discrepancies to ensure corrective action is taken and continuity of care is maintained.
The RN escalates unresolved or high-risk discrepancies to the Health & Wellness Director and prescribing provider as appropriate.
