Registered Nurse – Older Person Mental Health Unit

Salary: $81,748.17 – $ per annum plus superannuation
The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high‑quality nursing care to patients and clients of the St George Mental Health Service consistent with SESLHD and St George Mental Health Service policies, procedures and standards. The role is within the Older Persons Inpatient Mental Health Unit at St George Hospital.
ResponsibilitiesProvide nursing care to consumers aged 65 years or older with mental illness in an inpatient setting, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and engage with patients to enhance service delivery.
Qualifications- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
- High level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to identify key messages and concerns.
- Proactive engagement with patients and guidance of others in providing service excellence.
- Teamwork with multidisciplinary teams and application of professional and ethical boundaries in complex situations.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with health information systems.
- Understanding of recovery principles and commitment to consumer, family and carer participation and consumer‑focused care.
- Graduate‑level experience and ability to deliver high‑quality patient care in mental health.
- Experience in assessment and risk management within the mental health environment.
- Eligibility list for future permanent full‑time positions.
