Overview
Food Safety Specialist – protect food safety standards for hotel, restaurant®, and grocery clients. Work on-site to ensure brand compliance and deliver superior guest experiences.
Responsibilities- Conduct assessments to measure compliance with regulatory, industry, and proprietary brand standards.
- Observe food preparation and cooking procedures to verify food safety, health, and sanitation practices.
- Partner with clients to address root causes of discrepancies and develop corrective action plans.
- Teach and coach clients on creating a safer, healthier work environment for employees and customers.
- Travel 50%-70% (8-10 days/month), including evening and weekend work.
- Perform audits and inspections of food services.
- Implement and monitor food safety training programs.
- Investigate food safety incidents and maintain incident documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and maintain accurate records.
- Must be eligible for CP‑FS certification (proof of credentials required).
- Available Monday‑Friday, Saturdays, and evenings as needed.
- Valid driver’s license from state of residence.
- Strong knowledge of food safety preferred;
Serv Safe and/or CP‑FS certification advantageous. - Excellent listening, organization, communication, and time‑management skills.
- Ability to influence others with tact and skill; provide clear, constructive feedback.
- Thrives in an autonomous working environment; can work a flexible schedule.
- Strong organizational skills to prioritize work based on urgency and efficiency.
