Safety Supervisor

The Safety Supervisor is responsible for supporting and enforcing workplace safety programs, policies, and procedures to help ensure a safe and compliant work environment. This position conducts safety inspections, identifies hazards, leads safety training, investigates incidents, and works closely with management and employees to promote a strong safety culture.

Key safety responsibilities include monitoring daily work activities to ensure compliance with company policies, conducting routine safety inspections and job hazard assessments, recommending and following up on corrective actions, leading or assisting with safety meetings, investigating incidents, maintaining safety records, ensuring employees properly use required personal protective equipment, supporting emergency preparedness activities, communicating safety expectations clearly, and staying current on OSHA standards and industry best practices.

Security responsibilities involve responding and investigating guest and employee related incidents, monitoring surveillance systems, organizing and collaborating with other departments, coordinating with local fire and law enforcement, engaging with local, state, and federal officials, ensuring accurate communication through hotlines, escorting suspended or terminated employees off property, reviewing safety officer shift reports, and managing or performing safety officer duties as needed.

Asset management responsibilities include managing assets, overseeing lost and found protocols, and ensuring property is communicated to guests and returned.

Supervisory responsibilities involve managing safety officers' schedules, completing paperwork, and ensuring appropriate staff coverage for daily shifts and special events.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, previous experience in safety, ski resort operations, construction, restaurants, or hospitality, working knowledge of OSHA standards, ability to conduct inspections, recognize hazards, and recommend practical corrective actions, strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills, and proficiency with basic computer programs.

Certifications, licenses, and registrations include OSHA 10-Hour certification, additional safety-related certifications, first aid, CPR, and AED certification, and current certification as a Utah State Basic Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).

Other qualifications include being 25 years of age or older and approved to drive by our insurance carrier.
