Job Title Facilities Technician 1
Job Location St. George/Cedar City
Description The Facilities Technician 1 is an entry level role that performs basic and routine maintenance and inspections of property.
Responsibilities- Perform basic repairs on facility furnishings and spaces, such as furniture, furnishings, molding, doors, hardware, flooring, paint, plumbing fixtures, electrical fixtures, and landscaping.
- Perform basic inspections on facility furnishings and spaces, such as furniture, furnishings, molding, doors, hardware, flooring, paint, plumbing fixtures, electrical fixtures, and landscaping. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to facilities managers.
- Assist with basic preventative maintenance tasks involving facility systems, such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofs, and exteriors.
- Assist with occasional setup and breakdown of facilities furniture and furnishings for events and operational needs.
- Assist with miscellaneous facilities improvement projects including painting, drywall, carpentry, concrete, assembly of furniture, and installation of fixtures.
- Maintain worksite cleanliness and organization at facility job areas.
- Be proficient with basic tools and equipment for common handyman repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain and keep tools/equipment clean and tuned.
- Assist with inventory management of supplies and tools.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines for all tools and jobsites, including adherence to protocols for wearing proper safety attire.
- Identify and make recommendations for correct materials needed for basic repairs.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking and reporting.
- Be able to recognize and strive for high quality end results with tasks and projects.
- Be able to receive guidance and input from others. Recognize when your existing skill level will not allow for a quality result and seek input and help from others.
- Possess strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Can work independently and as part of a team.
- Have good communication skills and customer service orientation.
- High School Diploma preferred
- No prior professional experience required
- Valid Driver’s License preferred
- Have the stamina and capability to handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in various environmental conditions with only periodic breaks.
- Be able to lift 80 pounds.
