About This RoleShop Mechanic – Fleet Services, Coalville, UT (home‑based). Work regular shop hours, build familiarity with fleet, and serve as the backbone of equipment readiness for Civil and Gas Division crews.
What You’ll Do- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles and heavy construction equipment (oil changes, fluid services, filter replacements, lubrication, inspections).
- Diagnose and assist with repairs on mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems under guidance from senior mechanics.
- Prepare and stage equipment for field deployment; verify readiness checklists before release to project sites.
- Maintain accurate service records and work orders in the fleet management system.
- Keep the shop organized, clean, stocked and safe.
- Assist with parts procurement and inventory management.
- Participate in required training and certification programs to advance toward Mechanic II.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Basic mechanical knowledge: engines, drive trains, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read service manuals and follow technical procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. regularly and stand, bend, or work in confined positions for extended periods.
- OSHA 10 certification required or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire.
- 1+ years of experience as a mechanic on fleet vehicles or heavy construction equipment (or equivalent hands‑on training).
- Experience in construction, civil infrastructure, or gas industries.
- Vocational or technical training in diesel mechanics, heavy equipment or related field.
- CDL license (a plus).
