Job Details
- 3+ years of commercial HVAC installation experience
- Solid knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, ductwork, controls, and mechanical codes
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a crew and delegate tasks
- Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical specifications
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Physical ability to regularly stand, kneel, bend, climb ladders, lift 50+ pounds, and work in active construction environments (rooftops, mechanical rooms, crawlspaces, and elevated areas)
A Plus:
- EPA Certification
- Journeyman HVAC license or equivalent experience
- Experience as a foreman or similar supervisory position on commercial projects
- Experience managing large-scale or multi-phase construction projects
- Experience with VRF systems, rooftop units, split systems, boilers, chillers, or controls integration
Your day-to-day as a commercial HVAC foreman
As a commercial HVAC foreman, you will lead your team in completing exceptional work on active construction sites. You will plan daily activities and assign tasks to crew members, coordinating HVAC installations according to blueprints, specifications, and engineered plans. You will oversee the installation of duct systems, equipment, refrigerant piping, ventilation systems, and controls components, making sure all work complies with local codes, safety standards, and quality expectations.
You will collaborate with project managers, contractors, engineers, inspectors, and other trade professionals to ensure consistency across all project stages. Training apprentices and junior installers, managing materials and equipment, addressing roadblocks, and solving problems to keep projects on track and within budget will be part of your daily routine. You will also assist with system startup, punch lists, and final project completion, while keeping the work area as clean, safe, and organized as possible.
