Cullerton Group is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to support the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and customer support of advanced CNC milling machines. This individual will play a key role supporting a major customer installation involving multiple milling machines scheduled for deployment in November. Compensation is up to $156K/yr based on experience.
The ideal candidate will begin employment in July or August, with the opportunity to receive factory training in Switzerland. During the first several months, the engineer must be willing to travel 100% for training and customer support assignments before transitioning into a dedicated onsite role in Utah.
Candidates must have strong experience servicing CNC milling machines with Siemens CNC controls.
Key Responsibilities- Install, commission, and service CNC milling machines at customer facilities.
- Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and complex repairs with minimal supervision.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and CNC control issues.
- Troubleshoot machining and application problems while optimizing machine performance.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
- Support machine startups, production ramp-up, and customer acceptance activities.
- Train operators and maintenance personnel on machine operation, preventive maintenance, and safe operating procedures.
- Provide technical support and communicate effectively with customers, internal engineering teams, and service management.
- Complete service reports, documentation, and expense reports accurately and on time.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, safety, and customer satisfaction.
- Mentor junior Field Service Engineers (Level III candidates).
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Level II or Level III Field Service Engineer experience supporting CNC milling machines.
- Hands‑on experience with Siemens CNC controls (required).
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing CNC machine tools.
- Ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex machine issues.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and passport (or ability to obtain one).
- Willingness to travel 100% during the initial training period.
- Willingness to relocate or work full‑time onsite in Utah after training.
- Factory training on CNC machine tools.
- Experience with high‑precision milling equipment.
- Knowledge of machine geometry, alignment, calibration, and test cuts.
- Experience mentoring junior service engineers.
- Additional language skills (French or German) are a plus.
- July/August through approximately November:
Up to 100% travel for factory training (including Switzerland) and customer support. - After November:
Primarily onsite at the customer's facility in Utah, with occasional travel as needed.
