Western Rock Products, a CRH company, is seeking a safety-oriented and dependable Lube Technician to support the maintenance and reliability of our fleet and heavy construction equipment. This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance services, lubrication, inspections, and routine servicing of trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment used in aggregate, asphalt, ready-mix, and construction operations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and the ability to identify potential maintenance concerns before they become major equipment issues.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, construction equipment, and support vehicles.
  • Change engine oil, filters, and fluids in accordance with manufacturer and company maintenance schedules.
  • Lubricate moving components using appropriate greases and lubricants.
  • Inspect and maintain fluid levels including engine oil, coolant, transmission fluid, hydraulic fluid, brake fluid, and fuel systems.
  • Conduct routine visual inspections of belts, hoses, tires, batteries, lights, brakes, and other critical components.
  • Identify and report mechanical deficiencies, wear, or safety concerns requiring repair.
  • Complete service records, maintenance documentation, and inspection reports accurately and timely.
  • Assist mechanics with minor repairs and maintenance activities as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Operate service trucks and shop equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations.
  • Support equipment uptime and reliability objectives through proactive maintenance practices.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience performing lubrication, preventive maintenance, or servicing heavy equipment, diesel trucks, or construction equipment preferred.
  • Basic understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and heavy equipment systems.
  • Ability to perform inspections and recognize equipment maintenance needs.
  • Ability to read and understand service manuals, maintenance schedules, and work orders.
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking and recordkeeping.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in the aggregates, asphalt, ready-mix, mining, transportation, or heavy civil construction industries.
  • CDL or ability to obtain one.
  • Familiarity with fleet maintenance software systems.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, and general workplace safety practices.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more with assistance.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and noise.
  • Ability to safely access and inspect large trucks and heavy construction equipment.
