Komatsu is seeking a highly motivated
Field Technician
- Underground Mining
to support customersoperating underground mining equipment throughout Arizona and other assigned territories. This position plays a critical role in maintaining equipment availability and providing exceptional customer support at active mining operations.

The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills and have experience working on heavy equipment in mining, construction, or related industries. This position involves frequent travel to customer sites and requires the ability to work both above and below ground in underground mining environments.

This job requires a candidate to be based in Tucson or Phoenix AZ.

Equipment Supported

Technicians may work on a variety of underground mining equipment, including:

  • Load-Haul-Dump (LHD) loaders
  • Underground loaders
  • Bolters
  • Auxiliary underground mining support equipment
  • Additional underground hard-rock mining equipment as assigned
Key Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair various Komatsu equipment with a main focus on hard rock underground
  • Timely, effective repairs of machine components in the Field
  • Complete assigned jobs and task to meet flat rate times and re-do metric.
  • Work safely and follow all KEC/Customer safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete related paperwork and access databases require to complete job (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, STW) accurately and timely.
  • Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations. Qualifications/Requirements
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
    • Associate Degree in Diesel Technology or equivalent preferred.
    • Minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work.
    • Clean driving record
    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
    • Certified to operate a forklift and/or manlift.
    • May be required to complete a DOT physical.
    • Required to complete MSHA surface and underground certification.
    • May be required to complete respirator certification.
