Material Handler, Forklift Operator
Job Description
Primary duties and responsibilities of the Material Handler include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for placing product in designated rows in warehouse neatly and evenly.
- Ensure labeling and packaging are correct prior to moving product into warehouse.
- Supply production areas with needed raw materials.
- Load and unload product on stretch-wrap machine.
- Monitor efficiency of the stretch-wrap machine and report equipment failures to the Maintenance Department.
- Maintain stretch-wrap supply on machine.
- Oversee housekeeping and safety standards in the Warehouse Department.
- Assist loaders in loading and unloading semi-trailers when needed.
Physical Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Previous forklift operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Possess communication and organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and possess basic computer skills.
- The ability to frequently sit and intermittently stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, twist, crouch, reach and lower body.
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment regarding work priorities and problem solving.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds safely.
