Position: Commercial Banking Subject Matter Expert.

This opportunity is open to independent contractors based in Canada.

Innovatia is seeking an experienced Commercial Banking professional to provide subject matter expertise in support of a Sales Capability Program being developed for one of Canada's leading financial institutions.

You're someone who understands how relationship managers build trusted client relationships, identify opportunities, navigate complex conversations, and consistently execute effective sales behaviours. Equally important, you can translate that knowledge for learning professionals who need to build authentic, relevant training content.

What You'll Do

Participate in discovery sessions, workshops, and knowledge capture activities.

Provide expertise on business development, prospecting, relationship management, commercial lending, and sales execution.

Help clarify Commercial Banking terminology, business processes, customer interactions, and operational workflows.

Recommend authentic customer scenarios, coaching examples, and practical business situations for learning content.

Review draft learning materials and provide recommendations on accuracy and practical application.

Provide advisory input during pilot preparation, evaluation, and post-pilot refinement.

What You Bring

Extensive Commercial Banking experience within a Canadian financial institution.

Demonstrated success in business development, prospecting, relationship management, and commercial lending.

Experience coaching, mentoring, or leading Commercial Banking professionals.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate banking concepts clearly to both business and learning audiences.

Preferred Areas of Expertise

Commercial lending, credit adjudication, or financial analysis

Business development, prospecting, and pipeline management

Relationship management

Sales coaching or workforce capability development

Sales enablement or business transformation initiatives

Travel

Primarily remote, with limited travel possible by mutual agreement.
