Position: Field Service Heavy Equipment Mechanic (unlicensed are accepted)

Location: Saint-John, NB

Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Pay: $32.00–$35.00 hourly depending on experience

If you’re a skilled Field Service Heavy Equipment Mechanic who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and takes pride in quality workmanship and customer service, we’d love to hear from you. As a key member of the Service team, the Field Service Heavy Equipment Mechanic plays a vital role in keeping our rental fleet and customer equipment operating safely, reliably, and effectively.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Repair and service equipment on site.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and accurately estimate repair costs.
  • Inspect rental equipment on job sites to ensure proper operation and identify faults or potential failures.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts, components, and systems using hand and power tools.
  • Test repaired equipment to confirm proper performance and manufacturer specifications compliance.
  • Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with company and factory standards.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on construction equipment.
  • Service attachments and related working tools.
  • Order parts as required to complete repairs efficiently.
  • Complete service reports and related documentation accurately.
  • Support branch operations by performing additional duties as assigned by the Branch and Service Managers.
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments to ensure timely repairs and service delivery.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with your colleagues to create a supportive and efficient work environment.
  • Follow all workplace safety protocols and environmentally sound practices, making sure everyone stays safe.
  • Support our Saint-John, Moncton and Fredericton branches.

What We're Looking For
  • Mechanical

    Experience:

    An experienced Field Service or Heavy Equipment Mechanic or a 3rd/4th year apprentice with strong diagnostic and failure analysis skills. Hands-on experience repairing and maintaining a wide range of construction equipment including Genie, Skyjack and CAT.
  • G Class Driver’s License: Full G Class driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Customer Service Oriented: Excellent communication skills and a knack for making customers feel valued.
  • Computer

    Skills:

    Strong computer skills and familiarity with Cat systems (ET and SIS would be considered an asset).
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a team environment with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and work with minimal supervision.
  • Independent Worker: Ability to work independently with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Endurance: Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly up to 50 lbs.
