Job Summary

A System Integrator in Software and Electronic Systems (EES) specializes in integrating electrical and electronic components and systems for Kitchen Aid Small Appliances (KASA). The role involves developing and programming control systems and user interfaces to enable intuitive interaction with appliances. The position is onsite at the St. Joseph Tech Center in Michigan.

The System Integrator will design control panels, integrate touch screens, implement smart features, and facilitate connectivity with smart home systems. They will collaborate with engineers, designers, and technicians, translating functional requirements into efficient system architectures. Responsibilities include selecting and integrating hardware, software, wire harnesses, sensors, actuators, and communication interfaces to ensure seamless operation and optimal performance.

During the Whirlpool Development Process, the System Integrator will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet industry standards, safety regulations, and energy‑efficiency requirements. They will conduct testing and troubleshooting to resolve electrical or electronic issues, ensuring high‑quality standards and a positive user experience.

Your responsibilities will include
  • Managing system integration in Production Development Projects across Growth & Innovation, Cost & Quality, and Advanced Development.
  • Working with system architects for effective hand‑shake from planning to execution.
  • Supporting architects to decompose product‑level requirements and align with stakeholders.
  • Assisting project managers with scoping, cost, quality targets, and schedules before project initiation.
  • Driving SES integration events from project initiation.
  • Ensuring platform integration events are supported.
  • Coordinating with PM to complete product development activities on time, at cost, and with quality.
  • Maintaining performance targets to support project plans and execution.
  • Making technical decisions for SES system‑level design trade‑offs and issue resolution within project/product plan guardrails.
  • Leading technical design reviews and integration events to assess architecture compliance.
  • Tracking risk management and knowledge‑gap closure by partnering with stakeholders.
  • Driving SES system validation using predictive methodologies during concept, design, and product validation stages.
  • Providing product leadership through the Whirlpool Product Development process at the SES system level.
  • Ensuring variant‑specific engineering bills of material (EBOMs) have proper configuration management and align to project charter and architecture definition.
  • Closing SES System‑level DFMEA based on concept and design validation data and functional performance stacks.
  • Defining parts required for builds, specifying sample numbers and dates.
  • Aligning expenses, writing purchase orders, and tracking parts to ensure timely arrival.
  • Reviewing test cases based on consumer use case results with SES V&V engineer, subsystem engineers, platform engineers, and setting file engineers.
  • Partnering with systems architects and subsystem engineers to maintain consistent, complete, and approved requirements.
  • Driving subsystem engineers and ECAD team for design package processing and control.
  • Providing technical support for change management (IOCs, scope changes) and evaluating impact on cost, schedule, and resources.
Minimum requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Controls and Automation, or Computer Engineering.
  • Minimum 6months of experience in Electronics Systems Engineering and Technical Design.
