United Federal Credit Union is looking for an experienced consumer lending leader to serve as our Vice President of Consumer Production Support. In this highly influential role, you will oversee the nationally centralized delivery and operations supporting our consumer and home equity lending programs.
You will lead teams responsible for underwriting, processing, sales support, and lending operations across direct, indirect, home equity, and VISA products. You will also help ensure strong portfolio quality, efficient operations, regulatory compliance, and a consistent experience for our members.
What You’ll Do- Provide strategic leadership for consumer and home equity loan underwriting, processing, delivery, and operational support.
- Oversee direct and indirect consumer lending, home equity lending, VISA products, and related add-on products.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Member Service Advisors responsible for delivering lending products and services.
- Evaluate lending requests and approve appropriate exceptions that demonstrate an acceptable level of credit risk.
- Identify and implement improvements to lending systems, workflows, processes, and reporting.
- Develop and maintain service-level agreements that support operational efficiency and high service standards.
- Help shape indirect lending strategy in partnership with the Director of Indirect Sales.
- Partner with Audit, Regulatory, Legal, Enterprise Risk Management, and other teams to support compliance, examinations, and sound lending practices.
- Monitor the Loan Operations budget and address variances as needed.
- Collaborate with Training to support onboarding and technical development for consumer underwriters and processors.
- Assist Collections and Loss Prevention with delinquency, repossession, and other collection-related matters.
- A bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or two years of related work experience.
- Five or more years of consumer or mortgage lending experience.
- At least three years of underwriting or portfolio quality experience.
- Previous management experience.
- Strong knowledge of consumer lending, credit risk, and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Experience with lending operations, underwriting, servicing systems, and related technology.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, train, and develop others.
- Strong communication, business judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- The ability to interpret lending guidelines, manage competing priorities, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
