Join Snap‑on in Saint Joseph, MI as a Semi‑Automated Line Assembly Technician. In this full‑time, hourly role, you’ll help transform components into finished products that professionals rely on every day. You’ll report to the Production Supervisor (or designee) and move between hands‑on assembly, materials handling, and ERP‑driven updates that keep the line running smoothly.
A Day in the LifeYou start your shift by reviewing work instructions and checking inventory levels. With your station set to 5S standards, you assemble parts and subassemblies, verify proper fit, and label and palletize completed items. Throughout the day you’ll enter data into our ERP system, tidy work areas to maintain a safe environment, and record production results and priorities for shift summaries.
What You’ll Do- Perform component assembly, verifying correct fit and fastening parts/subassemblies.
- Handle materials; label and palletize finished goods for shipment.
- Use ERP software (Epicor preferred) and process paperwork to record transactions.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized area; execute daily 5S activities.
- Monitor inventory levels, anticipate needs, place/expedite orders, and verify receipts.
- Report work results, priorities, and progress; support continuous improvement.
- Contribute as a reliable team member and take on related tasks as assigned.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent bending/stooping; standing and walking 8+ hours per day.
- Walk long distances repeatedly throughout the day.
- Climb step stools/small ladders as needed.
- Perform repetitive fine motor hand movements.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience on an assembly team; 1 year related experience preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (Epicor preferred) and basic computer/data entry skills.
- Strong reading and math skills; able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to set priorities, track progress, and report results on shift production summaries.
- Commitment to product quality and organizational standards; team‑oriented and self‑directed.
