Position: Bindery - Operator I - Saddle Stitcher (60686)
Job Summary:

As a Bindery - Operator I you are responsible for the set up, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of applicable equipment. The equipment operated includes but is not limited to:
Case-In machines, Perfect Binders and Saddle Stitchers.

Required Systems/Applications:

AS400 or Monarch

Essential Functions:

Set up, run, and maintain assigned machinery.
Lead and coach crew members.
Troubleshoot assigned machinery according to company procedures and practices to assure efficiency and quality to meet the required production schedule.
Read and understand the written information pertaining to the job.
Strive to meet or exceed departmental and company goals.
Interpret and apply department policies, procedures and job instructions accurately.
Communicate effectively with incoming shift personnel to ensure smooth transitions and minimal disruptions.
Maintain accurate counts.
Coordinate with supervisors/maintenance on timely repair of equipment
Follow all safety procedures as set forth by Walsworth.
Perform preventative maintenance.
Train new Bindery Operators and crew.
Monitor production and quality to make recommendations on process improvements.
All other duties as assigned.

Ability to work overtime beyond the standard 40-hour workweek depending on production requirements.

May require the ability to use a keyboard and other office equipment.

Minimum Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 6 months of working in a Bindery role.
Minimum of 1 year of Bindery - Operator II experience or previous Bindery - Operator I or equivalent experience
