BOOKKEEPER/ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
1st Shift: 8am-6pm
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 DOE

TEMP-TO-HIRE POSITION
Position OverviewA bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth functioning of an organization's financial operations. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent numerical and organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices. The bookkeeper plays a vital role in the financial management of a company by recording, organizing, and reconciling financial transactions.
Financial Data Entry and Maintenance- Record day-to-day financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments into the accounting system.
- Maintain and update financial records as needed.
- Classify, code, and categorize financial data accurately.
- Process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper authorization.
- Prepare and issue customer invoices and track accounts receivable.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding payments and overdue accounts.
- Perform regular petty cash reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Monitor cash flow, track expenses, and manage petty cash.
- Prepare payments, including checks, online transfers, and electronic payments.
- Prepare and analyze cash flow statements.
- Generate and distribute financial statements to management and other stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Calculate and process agency employee hours and related reporting.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial documentation.
- Ensure compliance with record retention policies and legal requirements.
- Identify areas for process improvement and recommend efficient practices.
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, accountant, or in a similar role.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial procedures.
- Proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheets (e.g., Quick Books, Excel).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge of payroll processing and tax regulations.
