Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Must obtain and maintain a Substitute Certificate.
  • Preferred:
    Previous experience (not required).
  • To obtain a Substitute Certificate: either an associate’s degree or higher (need official transcripts), or 36 college credit hours (need official transcripts), or completion of Missouri’s 20‑hour online substitute training program, or required copy of high school diploma, transcripts, or proof of GED.
FLSA Status

Exempt.

Salary Schedule

Per Approved Educational Support Salary Schedule.

Building Principal.

Terms of Employment

9 months. Eligible for emergency telework with Supervisor approval.

Essential Job Functions
  • Attend work in a regular, reliable, and punctual manner.
  • Telework when requested by the District. Operate and supervise the library to which assigned.
  • Collaborate with the building principal to develop a library schedule ensuring student access during the school week.
  • Evaluate, select, and requisition new library materials, while maintaining the existing collection.
  • Make library materials available to supplement the instructional program.
  • Inform teachers and other staff members concerning new materials the library acquires.
  • Maintain a comprehensive and efficient computerized system for cataloging all library materials, and instruct teachers and students on use of the system.
  • Collaborate with teachers to provide materials and activities to extend use of library resources.
  • Help students develop independent research skills in relation to planned assignments.
  • Present and discuss materials with a class studying a particular topic, on the invitation of the teacher.
  • Serve on applicable building and/or district committees.
  • Arrange frequently changing book-related displays and exhibits likely to interest the library’s patrons.
  • Monitor and administer the library budget.
  • Participate actively in library and other educational and professional development on the local, regional, state, and/or national level.
  • Deselect obsolete and worn materials from the collections.
  • Other duties assigned.
