United Way of Southeast Missouri is launching a new Ameri Corps program, United for Childcare, to increase access to affordable, quality childcare in Southeast Missouri. Childcare is a critical need in our region, with many families unable to work due to a lack of providers. This program places Ameri Corps members in roles that expand provider capacity and support the childcare workforce.
Ameri Corps is a national service program that provides members with a living allowance paid on the 1st and 15th of each month, plus an education award upon successful completion of service that can be applied toward tuition or student loans. Members may work another job or attend school during off hours. 3/4 Time (1,200 hours): $600 living allowance per pay period | $5,176.50 education award.
Half Time (900 hours): $400 living allowance per pay period | $3,697.50 education award. We are seeking people of all abilities. No prior experience in childcare licensing is required.
