Required: Master's Degree with a valid MO Administrative and Elementary Teaching Certificate.

Preferred: Specialist Degree, successful administrative experience and 5 years’ teaching experience.

Direct Report: Director of Elementary Education

Terms of Employment: 10½ month (211 days)

Eligible for emergency telework: Yes

Purpose: To provide effective instructional leadership; direct overall site operations, services, and staff; provide information and serve as a resource to others; develop community relations; enforce established policies and regulatory requirements; coordinate school activities and address issues, situations and/or problems that arise on campus or with students and staff. Because of the scope of the duties required by this job, the acceptance of extra duty assignments is not allowed.

Job Functions
  • Attend work in a regular, reliable and punctual manner.
  • Telework when requested by the District.
  • Maintain visibility throughout the school campus during the instructional day.
  • Maintain MANDT certification.
  • Lead the development, implementation and communication of educational goals.
  • Provide strong and positive educational leadership by organizing, developing and administering the instructional program of the assigned school.
  • Utilize student data to develop the school improvement plan, inform professional development decisions, and evaluate personnel.
  • Develop and grow educators through building professional development, observing classroom instruction, reviewing lesson planning, and providing feedback conversations.
  • Provide leadership in developing the necessary climate for change and growth within the school.
  • Develop and follow a plan of self‑improvement that promotes both personal and organizational goals.
  • Evaluate assigned personnel to ensure standards are achieved and performance is maximized.
  • Facilitate PLCs to coordinate activities and ensure outcomes achieve school, district and/or state objectives.
  • Develop budgets and financial forecasts to provide guidance and recommendations to administrative personnel, the Superintendent and/or governing Board.
  • Demonstrate effective communications through regular staff meetings, weekly building communications, newsletters, and personal contacts.
  • Facilitate communication between personnel, students and/or parents to evaluate situations, solve problems and/or resolve conflicts.
  • Represent the school within community forums to maintain ongoing community support for educational goals and assist with issues related to the school environment.
  • Implement policies, procedures and/or processes to provide direction and/or comply with mandated requirements.
  • Manage school administrative functions (e.g., facility maintenance, budget, staffing, etc.) to maintain safe and efficient school operations within district guidelines.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
  • Prepare a wide variety of materials (e.g., quantity reports, student activities, correspondence, etc.) to document activities, provide written reference, and convey information.
  • Present information (e.g., budget overviews, accounting processes, distribution formulas, etc.) to communicate information, gain feedback, and ensure adherence to established internal controls.
  • Research alternate funding sources to maintain the efficient operation of the school.
  • Supervise school personnel to monitor performance, provide professional growth and achieve the overall objectives of the school's curriculum.
  • Perform various other duties as assigned to serve student and staff needs.
