The Department of Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics (CSMP) at Missouri Western State University is inviting applications for an Assistant Professor or Professor of Practice in Computer Science. About the Role- Teach undergraduate computer science and cybersecurity courses using hands‑on, applied learning approaches.
- Design and update curriculum aligned with emerging technologies and industry needs.
- Mentor students in academic pathways, applied research, and professional development.
- Engage in departmental service, community outreach, and industry collaboration.
- Contribute to program development within Missouri’s applied learning university.
- Work within the Houlne Center for Convergent Technology, supporting interdisciplinary innovation.

- Industry experience in areas such as software development, AI, data analytics, cloud computing, or cybersecurity.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Master’s degree or higher in a computing‑related discipline.
- Experience applying industry knowledge to teaching.
- Background in program development aligned with workforce needs.
- Record of professional engagement.
- Familiarity with online or hybrid teaching formats.
- Excels at mentoring diverse students.
- Brings strong industry insight to enhance learning.
- Values applied learning and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Supports Missouri Western’s mission of education through real‑world experience.
- Mostly sedentary role; may lift up to 10 lbs.
- Occasional evening work may be required.
