Assistant Professor, Social Work (9 Month)

Faculty and instructors are responsible for curriculum, teaching, service, scholarship, and related administrative activities that support the mission, vision, and values of the university. The College of Education and Human Services at Lindenwood University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Social Work. Qualified applicants will possess a doctorate in social work with specialization in CSWE-accredited programs. The successful candidate will be expected to teach 4 courses (12 credit hours) each semester on Social Work and Field Supervision.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching online. All Lindenwood faculty members are expected to advise and mentor students, continue to develop their expertise through research and scholarship, and participate in faculty governance and campus life. The Assistant Professor of Social Work is a full-time, 9-month faculty position that will begin August 2026. Review of applications will begin June 15, 2026 and will continue until an applicant is hired.
Responsibilities include classroom instruction, student advising and mentoring, and engagement with community partners supporting field placements. A Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program is required; a doctorate in social work or a related field is strongly preferred. Experience in field education, supervision, and applied practice is expected. Course delivery may include both in‑person and online modalities. Applicants should have a basic knowledge of CSWE accreditation standards and re‑affirmation procedures.
