** Job Overview:**##
Job Summary We’re looking for a General Superintendent – Mechanical to provide overall field leadership across all mechanical construction disciplines on our power generation and industrial projects. This is a multi-discipline leadership role spanning everything from anchor bolts up: structural steel erection, equipment setting and alignment, piping fabrication and installation, boilermaker work, and electrical systems—all the way through mechanical completion and handoff to precommissioning.
You’ll report to the Director of Construction within our matrix organization, with dotted-line coordination to on-site project leadership. This structure ensures you have dedicated craft discipline support while staying fully integrated with the project team on sequencing, schedule, and execution priorities.
You’re the person who sees the whole picture—driving cross-discipline coordination, resolving conflicts between trades, and ensuring every craft superintendent and their crews are pulling in the same direction to deliver safe, high-quality work on schedule and within budget.# ##
Key Responsibilities Multi-Discipline Field Leadership
* Provide overall field leadership and direction across all mechanical construction disciplines, including:
* Structural steel erection
* Millwright / mechanical equipment setting and alignment
* Piping fabrication, installation, and testing
* Boilermaker work (HRSGs, SCR systems, stacks, ductwork)
* Electrical installation, cable pulling, terminations, and testing
* Crane and rigging operations
* Directly oversee and coordinate discipline-specific superintendents across all mechanical trades on site
* Own the integrated mechanical construction schedule from anchor bolt installation through mechanical completion and turnover to precommissioning
* Drive construction sequencing and prioritization across disciplines to optimize workflow, minimize rework, and maintain critical path
* Ensure smooth transitions between construction phases—foundations to steel, steel to equipment setting, equipment to piping and electrical tie-ins## Planning & Execution
* Develop and manage the integrated mechanical execution plan in coordination with project management and planning
* Lead look-ahead planning across all mechanical trades, identifying constraints, resolving conflicts, and ensuring material and equipment readiness
* Monitor and manage overall mechanical manpower loading, productivity, and labor forecasts
* Track progress across steel tonnage, equipment sets, pipe spool installation, weld completion, cable pulls, and system completion metrics
* Manage area turnover sequencing to support system-by-system handoff to precommissioning
* Review and approve discipline-level work plans, lift plans, and execution strategies## Quality & Compliance
* Ensure all mechanical work meets project specifications, applicable codes (ASME, AISC, AWS, NEC, NFPA), and quality standards
* Oversee QC performance across all disciplines—weld quality, bolt tensioning, alignment tolerances, NDE completion, and test pack readiness
* Ensure compliance with all safety policies and regulatory requirements, including OSHA and site-specific rules
* Drive a strong safety culture across all mechanical crews through daily engagement, job briefings, and accountability## Pre-commissioning Support
* Coordinate mechanical completion activities across all disciplines to support system turnover
* Oversee punch list management, system walks, and closeout activities
* Ensure all mechanical systems are ready for precommissioning, including:
* Hydrostatic and pneumatic testing
* Lube oil and seal oil flushing
* Electrical testing, megger, and hi-pot
* Equipment rotation checks, bump tests, and uncoupled runs
* Steam blow and chemical cleaning readiness
* Interface with commissioning and startup teams on turnover priorities, sequences, and system readiness
* Support initial energization, equipment startup, and performance testing activities as needed## Coordination…
