Location: St. Joseph

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to all aspects of data center operations including the operation, maintenance and repair of all mission critical equipment and systems supporting a 24x7 data center operation to achieve 99.9% uptime and 100% compliance with all customer SLAs.
  • Perform complex electrical maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on power systems to prevent downtime, utilizing DCIM and BMS tools.
  • Ensure adherence to all standard operating procedures (SOP), method of procedures (MOP), and emergency operating procedures (EOP) established for the critical environments, as well as the formal change control process.
  • Assist in the technical review and input on plans for all significant planned and emergency maintenance events for the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E, OSHA, and local electrical codes to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Review and approve electrical upgrades, ensuring capacity planning aligns with facility infrastructure capacity.
  • Interface with contractors and vendors for maintenance, installation, and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Assess Electrical and Mechanical infrastructure in Manufacturing data centers.
  • Design electrical infrastructure solutions.
  • Generate recommendations based on site assessments.
  • Drive & implement projects to increase current facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability & reliability.
  • Work with other teams (Networking, Logistics, Safety, Security, Business leaders) and operating partners to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize safety, performance, reliability, sustainability and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience:

    3+ years of experience in high-availability, mission-critical environments (data centers, hospitals, or manufacturing).
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Knowledge of power distribution systems, UPS units, ATS, and emergency generators.
  • Soft Skills:

    Strong leadership, collaboration, and the ability to manage risk under pressure.
  • Certifications:

    Industry‑specific certifications (e.g., Data Center Certifications or critical power certifications) are often preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
    Ability to develop solutions and create technical plans on projects.
  • Ability and willingness to think outside of the box to find creative and innovative solutions to improve quality, reliability and continuously drive down operating costs.
  • Understanding of both mechanical and electrical equipment, systems and design related to data centers.
  • Knowledge of electricity and medium and low voltage electrical distribution systems.
  • Experience with emergency backup systems (generators, UPS, battery backup).
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance and work order software systems, single line drawings, critical scripted work, and sequence of operations.
