The Controls Engineer will support existing electrical control systems, PLC, HMI programs for industrial controls systems. Control systems will be used on OEM tablet press models and may require maintenance and support with the Tablet Press Service Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES PLC and HMI configuration and programming AC/DC drive and motor selection including servo, configuration, and commissioning.
Maintaining compliance with various electrical industry and safety standards like NEC, NFPA 79, UL and CE.Work with Mechanical Engineering in Press Design and functionality
Assist customer and technical service with customer service issues when needed including remote troubleshooting of installed equipment
Assist in developing product manuals and documentation as necessary QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Thorough knowledge of electrical engineering principles, particularly three phase motor control theory
Ability to read electrical schematics
Must know Studio 5000
HMI development with Indusoft Web StudioSQL Database development & reporting
Servo Motion Control Experience
Experience with safety systems preferred.
EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree or trade school with experience in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology preferred. physical requirements
Working Conditions:
Air conditioning, machinery noises. Exposure to electricity, wiring
Physical Effort:
Stand, walk, climb, push/pull, grasp, kneel, squat, bend, twist/turn, reach above shoulder, lifting 0-50 lbs.
