I&M Machine and Fabrication Corp is seeking an experienced Production Engineer to join our team.
About UsI&M Machine and Fabrication is a family-owned manufacturing company serving customers since 1974. We provide custom metal fabrication, precision machining, and industrial finishing services from our St. Joseph, Missouri facility. Our operation includes sheet and tube lasers, CNC machining centers, powder coating systems, and a wide range of fabrication and manufacturing equipment.

The Production Engineer is responsible for improving manufacturing processes, increasing efficiency, reducing costs, and supporting production operations. This role works closely with production, engineering, maintenance, and leadership teams to drive continuous improvement and ensure quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze and improve manufacturing processes, workflow, and equipment utilization.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
- Evaluate production costs, labor requirements, and material usage.
- Create and maintain process documentation, reports, and production data.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and support operational reliability.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and implementation.
- Train and support production personnel on new processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with vendors, technicians, and cross-functional teams on manufacturing initiatives.
- Support continuous improvement efforts throughout the facility.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
- 2+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Strong computer proficiency, including manufacturing and business software systems.
- Leadership skills and the ability to work effectively across departments.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
