OverviewWe are seeking a dependable and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing production equipment and facility systems that support our manufacturing operations. This position plays a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, plant safety, and operational efficiency.
Schedule:
Tuesday
- Friday, 5:00pm - 3:30am
- Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment and machinery to minimize downtime and maximize performance.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and complete repairs as needed.
- Install, set up, maintain, and repair plant equipment, including ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Inspect equipment and identify potential problems through observation, testing, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Complete assigned work orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Conduct routine equipment and facility inspections, including daily operational rounds.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized shop areas, maintenance rooms, and work spaces.
- Assist with updating and maintaining Process Safety Management (PSM) and Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs.
- Monitor inventory levels of maintenance parts, supplies, and equipment and assist with ordering when necessary.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and store them properly after use.
- Document repairs, maintenance activities, and ongoing operational needs to ensure effective communication between shifts and team members.
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report safety concerns, hazards, or equipment issues to management.
- Continue developing technical knowledge through training opportunities and industry resources.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Vocational or technical training preferred.
- 1-3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or processing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with welding, electrical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, ammonia refrigeration, and general building maintenance.
- Previous experience in meat processing, food manufacturing, or a related industry is preferred but not required.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and mechanical aptitude.
- Regular exposure to cool, wet, and industrial production environments.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working around raw beef, chicken, and other raw materials, as well as associated odors.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
