This Public Health Nursing position will carry out the programmatic requirements of the Nurse-Family Partnership nurse home visiting program. Provide home visits to low-income women and their families, weekly to every other week. Adhere to the nursing process, and the NFP model of home visitation. Manage a caseload of approximately 21-25 clients. Support policies, procedures, NFP Visit-to-Visit Guidelines and standards of NFP and the Saint Louis County Department of Public Health.
Participate in community coalition in support of NFP and promote public awareness of NFP. Complete all required NFP Initial Education. Develop therapeutic relationships, utilizes concepts of trauma-informed care and motivational interviewing with women and their families in a home visiting environment. Perform home visiting in accordance with the NFP model and NFP Visit-to-Visit Guidelines. Assess physical, emotional, social and environmental strengths and challenges of women and their families.
Provide education, support and resources to assist women and their families in attaining their goals. Participate in ongoing professional development (examples include: mental health, intimate partner violence, opioid use, health equity & reproductive health) to enhance their practice. Participate in weekly NFP team meetings, case conferences, and reflective supervision. Perform such additional duties as required.
This is a grant‑funded term position; the 3‑year Children’s Service Fund grant will end on 9‑30‑26 and has always been renewed.

Qualifications and Requirements- Requires licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State of Missouri.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification.
- Candidates must possess a valid driver's license.
A selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant which will include recentness and appropriateness of the applicant's education and experience, answers to the supplemental questions, results of employment references investigated and any other appropriate information available. The selection committee will admit to the interview only those persons who possess the most job-related qualifications and may establish admittance criteria beyond the minimum qualifications stated above.
The interview will comprise 100% of the applicant's earned grade. A candidate must earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more on the interview to be eligible for appointment. After initial interviews with the selected candidates are conducted, an email will be sent to the address on file with instructions on how to complete and submit a Conviction Questionnaire. Candidates have 3 days to complete the required questionnaire.
The five top ranking candidates, based on the final grade, will be certified to the Department Director/Appointing Authority who will make the final decision. All applicants conditionally offered a merit position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Screening will be performed by a reputable clinical laboratory. The cost of screening will be covered by the County.
