Bone marrow transplant is one of the most specialized, intellectually demanding — and rewarding — areas in all of advanced practice nursing. A Level 1 academic medical center in St. Louis, Missouri is looking for an Nurse Practitioner ready to step into that world, whether you're a new graduate with strong oncology RN experience eager to launch a specialty career, or an experienced NP ready to take your hematology/oncology practice to the next level.
This is a 100% inpatient BMT role within a research-active academic division — managing complex hematologic malignancy patients, participating in clinical trials, and performing procedures including bone marrow biopsies and stem cell transplants alongside a collaborative team of attending physicians and fellows with immediate backup available every shift. Three 13-hour night shifts per week with flexible scheduling, a competitive experience-based salary, and a potential hiring bonus round out a package built for the right specialist.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive inpatient care for bone marrow transplant patients
- Manage hematologic malignancy patients undergoing BMT and related therapies
- Perform bone marrow biopsies and assist with stem cell transplants
- Collaborate with attending physicians, fellows, and interdisciplinary BMT team
- Participate in clinical trials and research initiatives within the BMT division
- Monitor and manage treatment-related complications and disease toxicities
- Maintain accurate and timely inpatient clinical documentation
- Utilize immediate physician telecommunication and on-site backup throughout shifts
- AGACNP, AGNP, AGPCNP, DNP, or FNP credential
- New graduates with oncology RN experience welcome
- Oncology rotation or RN background in oncology preferred
