Job OverviewMO-SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital is seeking an RN Manager for the 9 North Unit. The unit is a 16‑bed medical‑surgical observation unit designed for patients requiring short stays of 24–48 hours with a focus on rapid bed turnover. The position is a regular employee, full‑time (40 h per week) with a day shift. The work location may be Missouri, Illinois, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin.
Job SummaryManages activities, workflow, and nursing resources of the assigned nursing unit(s).
Primary Responsibilities- Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements for self and within unit.
- Conducts hiring, training, direct management, development, and evaluation of staff.
- Identifies and resolves issues affecting delivery of patient care services for the unit(s). Develops and implements policies and procedures to guarantee efficient and effective delivery of health services.
- Monitors and adheres to budget; approves or monitors expenditures, purchases, and other actions to ensure compliance with budget guidelines.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and operates safely.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field.
- Two years of registered nurse experience with demonstrated progressive leadership responsibility, or one year of registered nurse experience plus one year of leadership experience.
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0–25 lb.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 in. or less) and far (20 ft. or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
- Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication; ability to hear alarms and malfunctioning machinery.
- Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and gripping.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25–50 lb.
- Rare climbing.

Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA);
Registered Professional Nurse (RN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR). - Missouri:
Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA);
Registered Nurse (RN) – Missouri Division of Professional Registration or RN issued by Compact State. - Oklahoma:
Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA); RN issued by Compact State or RN – Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN). - Wisconsin:
Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA); RN issued by Compact State or RN – Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.
