Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN), Rapid Response Float Pool provides comprehensive nursing care in Medical Surgical units, ensuring patient safety, care coordination, and quality standards throughout hospitalization.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements- Perform comprehensive nursing assessment, post‑op assessments, and educational needs assessment.
- Document findings accurately and maintain care plans based on assessment data, diagnosis, and physician orders.
- Formulate and implement evidence‑based nursing interventions.
- Collaborate with the health team for daily care plans and communicate via hand‑off reports (SBAR, bedside shift report).
- Administer medications and manage IVs, blood products, and nutrition per policies.
- Conduct restraint care, pain management, abuse assessment, and maintain infection control procedures.
- Provide patient/family education, discharge planning, and safety interventions, including fall and skin injury prevention.
- Document and communicate changes in patient condition, enforce physician orders, and utilize chain of command when necessary.
- Participate in quality improvement, performance improvement, and unit governance activities.
- Mentor new staff and supervise students, ensuring educational objectives and competency completion.
- Adopt and maintain corporate policies, including infection control, safety, and professional practice standards.
- Licensed RN in Missouri (or other applicable states as listed).
- BLS HCP certification (or equivalent). State‑specific RN licensure:
Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin. - Demonstrated ability to work in emergency and crisis situations, flexible scheduling, and ability to stand, walk, and lift patients.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills with a focus on patient safety and quality care.
- Commitment to evidence‑based practice and continuous professional development.
- Minimum Education:
Licensed RN in Missouri (HSC). - Working Conditions:
Exposure to blood‑borne diseases, high‑pressure clinical environment, irregular hours. - Physical Requirements:
Prolonged standing/walking; lifting, positioning, and transferring patients; occasional reaching and stooping. - Benefits:
