Barnes‑Jewish West County Hospital in Creve Coeur, MO opened in November 2019. The 2100 Inpatient Unit serves Orthopedic, Spine, Urological, and Plastic Surgery patients and provides an exceptional post‑operative experience to safely discharge patients home.

• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and families on managing illness or injury, including post‑treatment home care and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Develops, implements, and documents individualized plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team.
• Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
• Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs.
