Graduate Practical Nurse (LPN) Inpatient
The Graduate Practical Nurse works under the supervision of the Director. The Graduate Practical Nurse under the direction of the RN and/or Provider. Administers quality patient care according to established standards. May be required to work in other areas according to skill of staff and acuity of patients. Provides exceptional service to all patients and customers.
The Graduate Practical Nurse position is time limited. A person may remain in the Graduate Practical Nurse position until one of the following occurs:
1) They become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensed in their designated working state OR
2) They receive a failing score on the nurse licensure exam and are moved to another position in which they qualify.
- Completes daily reassessments for assigned patients and documents findings.
- Updates and implements the plan of care.
- Reinforces patient teaching and family education.
- Administers medications and monitors patients responses to medications including intravenous fluids and medications.
- Collaborates effectively with all members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Contributes to the professional development of peers colleagues and others (students orientees).
- Other duties as assigned
Recent graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing or military equivalent.

Licenses and Certifications
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - State Licensure
- State Licensure/Or Compact State Licensure in state depending upon designated work location
- Required within 90 Days
IV Certification - IV certified upon hire
- Required Upon Hire
Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required within 90 Days
Driver's License
- Valid In State
- If operating a motor vehicle for business purposes.
- Required Upon Hire
Travel Requirements
Must be able to travel between various system facilities and off-site locations as needed.
