American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Stepdown position requiring Med-Surg/Stepdown experience and Epic charting proficiency.

• Med-Surg unit with Stepdown patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Day shift schedule, 3x12s or 4x12s,
• Epic EMR used

• Active RN license (MO State or Compact) required, pending license accepted if active and in hand prior to start
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central/peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with blood product administration and port access preferred
• Experience with CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, and spinal cord injury patients preferred
• Wound care/wound vac and feeding tube management skills preferred
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and PCA preferred
• Telemetry monitoring experience (on-unit and remote) preferred
• Experience with ortho trauma, total joint replacement, and surgical drains preferred

• Level II Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center providing tertiary care
• Facility offers a wide range of hospital and clinic-based services
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Previous employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Free parking available
