Job Summary
Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Supervisor – oversee compliance with food safety and quality standards during a specific shift, coordinate with colleagues, and maintain documentation accuracy.
Responsibilities- Lead FSQA technicians on assigned shift.
- Ensure all records are accurate and up‑to‑date (record verification).
- Conduct audits and assist the FSQA manager to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Prepare the facility for GFSI and customer‑specific audits.
- Investigate and address customer complaints, foreign material incidents, and environmental issues.
- Verify production paperwork and conduct production floor checks.
- Execute GMP and housekeeping audits to ensure cleanliness and adherence to GMP standards.
- Oversee the annual re‑assessment of HACCP.
- Facilitate food safety training for team members.
- Coordinate with onsite regulators (USDA) and communicate findings.
- Maintain flexibility for work hours, including coverage on other shifts and occasional weekend work.
- High School diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Minimum 1 year in a food manufacturing environment with FSQA experience.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred; experience in protein and ready‑to‑eat production environments preferred.
- HACCP/HARPC certifications preferred; broad knowledge of HACCP, USDA, GMP, and SSOPs required.
- Basic computer skills for creating simple queries and spreadsheets (SAP knowledge preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of staff and government officials.
- High‑level critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Lift up to 75 lbs.
- Stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day.
- Work in temperatures ranging from 30 to 90°F.
- Work in a wet environment; perform repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, gripping, pushing, and pulling.
- Reach high and low levels frequently; climb step ladders or stairs.
- Work overtime and weekends as needed; position requires Lock‑Out Tag‑Out certification.
