Job Overview
The Associate is responsible for completing in‑store food and non‑food demonstrations. The Associate acquires and maintains knowledge of the products represented, serves, demonstrates, intercepts consumers, and sells products in a professional manner. The Associate is responsible for the event execution equipment in the stores and maintains an overall professional appearance consistent with the job requirements.
Pay Rate$15.50 per hour
Responsibilities- Management and maintenance of the equipment and supplies used for events to ensure they are clean and secured in the agreed upon area of the backroom.
- When the Supervisor is absent, communicate with store management about upcoming events and the execution of past events in their store.
- When the Supervisor is absent, be the point person for all events being conducted in the store and assist other Event Specialists with event kits, materials and tools as needed.
- Assist the Supervisor by always providing leadership and knowledge to the team.
- Possess the aptitude and ability to gain adequate knowledge of the products represented.
- Have desire and ability to proactively intercept, engage, interact, and sell products to consumers in a positive manner.
- Assist or perform all job responsibilities assigned to the demo program.
- Effectively communicate the features and benefits of the product.
- Prepare and serve food samples including raw meats, produce, and eggs in compliance with food safety guidelines.
- Prepare and serve food samples using small appliances such as microwaves, fryers, skillets, coffee makers, and knives.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and safe workstation using cleaning chemicals.
- Maintain a professional appearance consistent with the job requirements.
- Properly set up and prepare event tables for execution.
- Complete all work assigned.
- Assist with preparation for client visits and complete audit corrections.
- Build and maintain rapport with store personnel to effectively meet company and client objectives.
- Complete expense reports as per company policy.
- Prepare and submit all online requirements on the same day as event execution.
- Take digital photos of the perfect table setup to document success stories for clients.
This role is not expected to exceed more than 25 hours per week, although the company maintains discretion to change the role based on business or client needs.
If an injury occurs, report all employment‑related injuries to your direct supervisor as soon as possible following an incident.
Qualifications- Education/
Experience:
High school diploma or GED; or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. - Computer
Skills:
Proficient ability to use and navigate a personal computer and mobile device, using applications and internal systems. - Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Food Safety Professional Certification, local food handlers permit if required. - Physical Demands:
Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms (including overhead), talk and hear, visually read instructions, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb (including a 6’ ladder), balance, lift and carry up to 25 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds), push and pull a wheeled demonstration cart fully laden with appliances, supplies, and product;
prepare foods with raw products; be in contact with cleaning supplies. - Supervisory Responsibilities:
Serve as point of contact when the Supervisor is absent. - Working Conditions:
Retail store environment with limited travel. - Physical Appearance:
Must present a neat, clean, and appropriately groomed appearance; specific retailer dress code requirements are included in training documents. - Language
Skills:
English is the primary language skill; bilingual skills may be required based on business necessity.
