Location: St. Joseph, MO
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Job Type: Part-Time
Schedule: 25 hours per week, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

As a Donation Processing Associate
, you'll play a key role in accepting, processing, sorting, and preparing donated items while delivering outstanding customer service to our donors. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a hands‑on environment, interacting with people, and making a positive impact through meaningful work.

• Greet donors and provide exceptional customer service
• Assist donors with unloading and accepting donations
• Accurately process and track donated items
• Inspect donations and identify acceptable materials
• Safeguard all donated goods and assigned equipment
• Educate donors on donation guidelines and available services

• Sort, categorize, and process donated merchandise according to Salvation Army standards
• Power sort donations as received, where applicable
• Support production goals and processing standards
• Load and unload Salvation Army trucks in accordance with center policy
• Assist with moving merchandise and materials throughout the facility

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe donation area
• Follow company policies and safety procedures
• Report complaints, injuries, equipment issues, or property damage promptly
• Assist with maintaining an efficient donation flow and processing area

• Paid training on donation procedures and production standards
• Hands‑on instruction for donation processing and merchandise handling
• Ongoing coaching and support from store leadership

• Retail, warehouse, production, donation center, or material handling experience preferred
• Experience working in a nonprofit or mission‑driven environment is a plus

• Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the workday
• Ability to regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds
• Ability to move larger items with assistance when needed
• Work in varying temperatures and conditions common to warehouse and donation center environments
