Gastroenterology Health and Sales Specialist - Peoria, IL
We are seeking a field‑based Specialty Care – GI Health & Science Specialist to drive the launch and growth of our GI products through compliant, strategic relationships within assigned accounts.
Job OverviewThis role supports Pfizer’s GI Sales organization, focusing on connecting scientific innovation with clinicians and systems to improve outcomes for patients with serious gastrointestinal disease.
Responsibilities- Drive customer engagement and sales performance through effective in‑person interactions.
- Build strong, compliant relationships with HCPs and office staff across assigned accounts.
- Deliver approved promotional and disease‑state messaging to support appropriate product use.
- Leverage product, disease, and market knowledge to identify opportunities and prioritize accounts.
- Support patient access by providing information on reimbursement, hubs, and co‑pay resources.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to address customer needs and advance business objectives.
- Use digital tools and insights to plan, execute, and optimize territory activities.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree OR an associate’s degree with 8+ years of work experience OR high school diploma (or equivalent) with 10+ years of work experience. - Minimum of 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device sales, marketing, or aligned therapeutic‑specific healthcare provider experience.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and compliant driving record. Any DUI/DWI or other impaired‑driving citation within past 7 years disqualifies applicants.
- 3–5 years of specialty sales experience, preferably in gastroenterology, immunology, or inflammation.
- Strong understanding of complex disease states, biologics, and specialty reimbursement and distribution processes.
- Experience engaging key opinion leaders and high‑influence accounts.
- Demonstrated business acumen, data‑driven decision making, and strategic thinking.
- Strong digital engagement capability (e.g., Veeva Engage, Teams) and comfort in hybrid selling models.
- Field‑based; must reside within a workable distance of all points of business within the assigned territory.
- Travel to all accounts and office locations within territory; overnight stays may be required based on business need.
- Work location assignment:
Remote – Field Based. - Territory includes:
Peoria, Springfield, Bloomington, Maryville, and Granite City. - Annual base salary range: $108,600 – $250,700.
- Additional sales incentive bonus available.
