• Expected to fill Apprentice position openings within the first six months of employment, within the assigned apprentice training program specific to the wage schedule.
• Work under the direction of journeymen on crews and may be required to work outside normal hours and undertake occasional overnight travel to serve customers.
• Safely operate hand tools, motor vehicles, buckets and manlifts while working in confined spaces and at various heights in a substation environment.
• Maintain a work record with good attendance and overall satisfactory performance throughout the training program.
• Be resourceful and disciplined while completing the assigned curriculum.
• Upon successful completion of the pre‑apprentice curriculum, be indentured into the Substation Apprentice Program where emergency call‑outs, overtime, and variable weather conditions may apply.

• Previous experience or education in maintaining electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, plus the ability to read technical documentation, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Electric utility maintenance or operations experience is a plus.
• Weight limit of 300 lbs to comply with OSHA standards and company safety rules.
• Required to obtain a Class A CDL permit, including tanker and hazmat endorsements, within the first six months of employment.
• Good attendance and a satisfactory work record.
• Must be resourceful, disciplined, and capable of working in a fast‑paced training environment.
