Hillyard, Inc. is currently seeking an IT Applications & Data Architect to join our Information Technology team in St. Joseph, MO
.

• Lead the architecture, design, development, and support of enterprise applications and data solutions.
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Design and implement secure, high‑performing applications using modern development practices and cloud technologies.
• Guide projects through the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design through deployment and ongoing support.
• Establish and maintain application architecture standards, development best practices, and coding guidelines.
• Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot complex issues, improve application performance, and enhance user experiences.
• Lead application modernization and integration initiatives across the organization.
• Provide technical mentorship, conduct code reviews, and support the growth of development team members.
• Evaluate technical feasibility, identify project risks, and recommend solutions that align with business objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement in development processes, application quality, security, and operational efficiency.

• 6–10 years of experience in software development, application architecture, or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise business applications.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, application design patterns, and modern development practices.
• Experience leading technical projects and collaborating across cross‑functional teams.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Microsoft SQL Server, SSMS, Queries, Stored Procedures, Views, Optimization, and Performance Tuning
• Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Git, Build and Deployment Automation
• Identity and Access Management (IAM), SAML, OAuth, Secure Development Practices
