Pay Rate : $55/hr on W2
Durations: 12+ Months with possible extension and conversions.
Job Overview:
This individual will serve as a subject matter expert within their area of focus and represent the department on complex assignments. The role is responsible for gathering requirements, developing and testing application code, evaluating technology effectiveness, investigating technical issues, and recommending improvements that increase quality and operational efficiency. The Engineer II will work closely with customers and technical teams to deliver solutions that align with business needs and customer expectations.
Required:
- Experience in Service Now development experience.
- Experience developing and integrating APIs using REST and SOAP web services.
- Experience with shell scripting and remote administration tools, including SSH and Power Shell.
- Experience developing, testing, debugging, and deploying application code.
- Strong understanding of software development and application support practices.
- Must currently reside in St. Louis, Missouri, or the immediate surrounding area.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring company sponsorship now or in the future.
- Must be committed to incorporating security into daily decisions and job responsibilities.
- Ability to participate in a rotating on-call support schedule.
Preferred:
- Experience working in an Agile or Scrum development environment.
- Experience with Software Development Life Cycle management.
- Experience with usability methods and user-focused application design.
- Experience supporting applications in quality assurance and production environments.
Responsibilities:
- Independently develop and modify medium- to highly complex application code using applicable technologies.
- Review software requirements and determine the feasibility of proposed designs within established time and cost constraints.
- Prepare and present code specifications and programming logic during code reviews.
- Participate in peer code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback.
- Perform local development builds, application integration builds, and code merges.
- Develop unit tests and test scripts to validate application functionality.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve defects ranging from low to high complexity.
- Migrate applications and code changes into quality assurance and production environments.
- Implement complex application modules, enhancements, and change requests based on approved designs.
- Gather and evaluate customer requirements to develop high-quality technical solutions.
- Research and investigate technology issues and recommend improvements.
- Participate in project planning and coordinate activities across different project phases.
- Work on small to large complex assignments involving multiple teams or business areas.
- Resolve moderately complex technical issues and resolve highly complex issues according to established procedures.
- Recommend new or improved departmental processes and procedures.
- Prepare and deliver formal and informal technical presentations.
- Present application designs to architects, leadership, business stakeholders, project managers, and managers.
- Represent the team in meetings outside the department.
- Provide technical instruction and guidance to less-experienced team members.
- Informally coach and mentor junior team members and help ensure project deadlines are met.
- Create and maintain documentation related to application modifications, enhancements, and updates.
- Monitor application logs and system status and take appropriate corrective action.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule with a defined management escalation point.
- Incorporate security requirements and best practices into daily development and operational decisions.
